Occupational Therapy Services

Noor Pediatric Therapy offers specialized treatment approaches in occupational therapy which are rooted in reflex integration, nervous system regulation, and overall holistic wellness. Besides providing 1:1 services to children, teens, and young adults, we also offer parent/caregiver coaching services.

We have experience with children and adolescents with a variety of needs and diagnoses including, but not limited to:

Developmental Delay

  • Delay/difficulty in life skills such as self-feeding, dressing, toileting, sleeping

  • Delay in social interaction and social emotional learning

  • Delay in motor milestones and lack of coordination/postural control

    Decreased Emotional Regulation

  • Frequent and/or long lasting tantrums

  • Inability to self-cope

  • Defiance/behavioral issues

  • Decreased frustration tolerance

  • Difficulty with transitions/flexibility

    Sensory Processing challenges

  • Hyperactivity and lack of body/spatial awareness - in constant motion, clumsy, falls often, likes to crash into things and be squeezed, lack of safety awareness (will jumps off high surfaces), spins often, likes to be upside down a lot

  • Tactile sensitivities - avoidant to touch, disliking certain textures, resisting grooming such as nail trimming/hair brushing and washing/teeth brushing

  • Auditory hypersensitivities - avoiding loud sounds, crying in busy environments

  • Oral seeking - licking or mouthing everything, prolonged thumb sucking, biting

    Anxiety

  • Lack of self esteem/overly critical of self

  • Avoids social interaction

  • Fears impacting daily life

  • Challenges with falling asleep/staying asleep/attaining restful sleep

  • Constantly in fight/flight/freeze

  • Negative thoughts

  • Need for constant reassurance/coregulation

Independence in daily tasks (sleep, personal hygiene, dressing, mealtimes, etc)

  • Planning and executive functioning

  • Self care management

  • Motor planning

  • Visual schedules

    Fine motor deficits

  • Lack of endurance for handwriting and fine motor tasks

  • Unable to manipulate fasteners, zippers, containers

  • Handwriting

Parent/Caregiver Coaching

Noor Pediatric Therapy provides both in person and virtual coaching services to parents and caregivers. Family coaching involves, but is not limited to:

  • Navigating day to day life such as: morning routines, mealtimes, play, and bed time routines.

  • Guidance towards reaching milestones such as: sleeping in a new room, potty training, traveling for the first time, introducing a new sibling, starting daycare or school

  • Navigating difficult behaviors such as: challenges with transitions, aggression towards others, complaints from school

Insurance and self pay

  • We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO plans and Aetna commercial plans. We offer a courtesy benefits check for you for a “good faith estimate” of cost. We also offer self-pay options for out of network plans.

  • Our in person and virtual coaching services are not reimbursable through insurance and are self pay only. We offer 30 minute, 45 minute, and 60 minute options for sessions.

  • We offer small fine motor and sensory groups for pre-school age children and kindergarteners. We also offer social skills and therapeutic activity groups for pre-teens/teens. Groups have limited capacity and are not reimbursable through insurance.
